The enormous warehouses that comprise Industry City—over 6.5 million square feet of space—were originally part of Bush Terminal, a key commercial hub on the Brooklyn waterfront. Constructed starting in 1895, Bush Terminal operated for 79 years, home to textile, automotive and manufacturing industries, shipping concerns, and warehouse businesses. Renamed Industry City in the mid-1980s, the complex is being transformed into a contemporary commercial and cultural hub.
